Hello! My name is Ceren E, and I am a 19-year-old student. I created this blog as a space to gather my personal interests and share my research on philosophy and art. My main goal is to share my thoughts with you and, more importantly, to start a debate and a dialogue. I am genuinely curious about your perspectives and feedback, as I want this platform to be a place for mutual exchange. I look forward to sharing my work with you by connecting essential philosophical themes with the world of art and masterpieces :)

I am not a professional in the art world, nor am I a philosophy student. My writings are not intended to be academic theses or professional references. My goal is simply to share my individual reflections and, as much as possible, to compile the theories of philosophers using reliable sources, books, and papers while expressing my own thoughts in a clear and thoughtful way. At the same time, one of the purposes of these writings is to question and interpret our perception of artworks — to look at them through a different perspective.

« Art is the lie that enables us to realize the truth. »

— Pablo Picasso

I see this platform as a room. A colorful room filled with many thoughts — sometimes orderly, sometimes completely chaotic. A room where emotions occasionally take center stage, and where logical reasoning leads the way at other times, depending on the concept. After all, isn't being human about accepting both sides and trying to balance them? It's about failing to do so at times, but the uniqueness in that is knowing how much both your emotional and rational sides make you who you are, as a person.

This site will feature content in English, French, and Turkish. Depending on the topic and the concept, I plan to alternate between these three languages in my writing.

Art & Philosophy Review · MMXXVI

Eclipsology (n.): The self-taught 'science' of accepting both the sun and the moon within yourself, and seeking to understand them through the art of questioning.

You won't find 'Eclipsology' in any dictionary. I created this word because that's what I like about having a personal space blog, where I can write freely :) As you may have noticed, the word eclipsologie is inspired by the word eclipse. I had the idea of completing it with the French suffix 'logie' (logy). The suffix 'logy' implies a systematic study, a way of making sense of the world. Eclipsologie is for me the science of being a human, to feeling, to experiencing, to learning, and to discovering!
